27 March 2019
Radon gas is a pervasive indoor pollutant and can be a hazard in both homes and workplaces. It is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the UK. As a result, under IRR17, employers are required to conduct risk assessments and to comply with the new, lower radon exposure limit in the workplace. Following on from the UK’s Radon Awareness Week (2018), SRP is hosting an event to consider radon in the workplace, covering the risks from radon, legislation changes, the UK national radon action plan, how to measure occupational exposures and to undertake preventative and remedial actions. The event is designed to help businesses, the public, radiation advisors and other interested parties to understand the many aspects of dealing with radon in the workplace.
This event is taking place at The Studio in Birmingham - 7 Cannon Street, Birmingham, B2 5EP.
