Regenerating Radiation Protection - The Changing Face of Radiation Protection
Across the Radiation Protection Profession we're seeing a wealth of new changes, challenges and opportunities ahead, from the commitment made at COP 28 to triple the nuclear capacity across the world, resulting in replacing 450 reactors and building at least 1000 additional ones, to workforce challenges and the review and revision of the System of Radiological Protection which will lay the foundation for Radiation Protection standards, regulations, guidance and practice worldwide for the next 40 years. Based on these and many others the theme for the next conference will be all about “Regenerating Radiation Protection”. The Cambridge Dictionary defines the verb “regenerate” as “to improve a place or system, especially by making it more active or successful”, and it’s that exact point we will be exploring at the Conference. How do we ensure we have future radiation protection standards, policy and regulations which will enable the deployment of new medical and net zero technologies? How are we are going to change the way we communicate to bring in the next generation of workforce?
