Technical Radiation Protection Professional (TechRadP)

Available to all grades of individual membership  of the Society as well as IRPA Affiliate members.

To admitted to the TechRadP Register you will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Application of Radiation Protection knowledge and understanding to deliver specific services and/or address well defined problems
  • Responsiblity for technical tasks or supervision of others
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to professional values and continuing professional development

You will need to demonstrate Radiation Protection knowledge by way of one of the following:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in an appropriate Radiation Protection discipline or equivalent
  • Radiation Protection training that enables you to demonstrate basic radiation protection theory and understanding (please supply the syllabus for review) and a portfolio of training plus a period of project work or evidence that demonstrates professional competence to a standard commensurate with Technical Registration.

You will need to demonstrate competence, providing examples from your working life, in each of the following areas:

  1. Application of General and Specialist knowledge
  2. Analysis and Solution of Radiation Protection Challenges
  3. Personal Responsibility
  4. Interpersonal Skills
  5. Professional Practice

SupportersApplicants are required to obtain the support of two people who have known them for at least one year and who can verify the information in the application and comment on your suitability to be granted TechRadP.  Both supporters should normally be Chartered, Incorporated or Technical Radiation Protection Professionals.  They will each need to complete a Supporter Form.
