Ionising Radiation Metrology Forum
The Ionising Radiation Metrology Forum (IRMF) consists of representatives from a wide range of UK organisations involved in the measurement of ionising radiation. One of its main aims is the promotion of good practice in radiological measurements, including the need for traceability to the appropriate national standards. A further activity is the organisation of measurement comparisons in the UK.
The IRMF is organised and supported by SRP’s Metrology and Measurement Science Committee and together they are responsible for reviewing and maintaining the following five Measurement Good Practice Guides (which were originally produced by the National Physical Laboratory):
Measurement Good Practice Guide No.14 Issue 3 now available (November 2021)
The Examination, Testing and Calibration of Portable Radiation Protection Instruments
Measurement Good Practice Guide No.29 Issue 2 now available (June 2022)
The Examination, Testing and Calibration of Installed Radiation Protection Instruments
Measurement Good Practice Guide No.30 Issue 3 now available (June 2021)
Practical Radiation Monitoring
Measurement Good Practice Guide No.49 Issue 2 now available (September 2020)
The Assessment of Uncertainty in Radiological Calibration and Testing
Measurement Good Practice Guide No. 113 Issue 2 now available (April 2022)
The Examination, Testing and Calibration of Electronic Personal Dosemeters
These Guides are aimed at Qualified Persons, Radiation Instrument Technicians and Radiation Protection Advisers with an interest in radiation detection and monitoring equipment examination, test and calibration. Please contact us for further information.
