International Day of Women and Girls in Science is 11th February each year
(by resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, 22 December 2015)

Ada Lovelace Day is always the second Tuesday in October

These Days recognise the critical role women and girls play in science and technology.  They remind the world that science and technology are being held back by the gender gap and that it is important to encourage girls into STEM careers. The Society for Radiological Protection fully supports these initiatives.  As well as providing information on the variety of careers in radiation protection, SRP supports women and girls in their career development.  See our Poster with inspirational female scientists as nominated by some of our members.
