28 November 2018
Serious radiological incidents are, mercifully, rare but very high profile events. Chernobyl, polonium-210 in London and Fukushima are instantly recognisable across the world - well beyond the RP community. Away from such dramatic events, emergency preparedness and response forms a fundamental part of all RP programmes and is something of interest and direct relevance to all RP professionals. Monitoring is an integral component of emergency response and brings particular challenges. At the last Emergency Preparedness and Response event, delegates were keen for a follow-up event addressing 'Monitoring in a Radiological Emergency'. SRP's Source Security and Emergency Preparedness Committee has therefore organised an event on this which is taking place on 28th November in London.
