Following industry concerns, UK Government commissioned a review of the UK’s approach to regulating radioactive liquid discharges, particularly those containing very low levels of radionuclides. This talk presented the results of that review which summarised current arrangements, feedback from industries and organisations generating radioactive waste, information on how other countries deal with the same challenges and recommendations made. The next steps proposed by Government was also outlined.
