Dr Mark Hardy is a Consultant Clinical Scientist at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool, and an honorary lecturer in Medical Physics at the University of Liverpool. Mark has 19 years’ experience in radiotherapy physics, and has worked as an RPA in medicine since 2011. He has recently completed a DClinSci (Doctor of Clinical Science) which included research on radiation protection for FLASH in proton therapy. He currently chairs the radiation protection advisor group at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and leads the Radiation Protection in Medicine module on the Medical Physics MSc at the University of Liverpool. He regularly works on designing new facilities in radiotherapy, which has included the Christie Proton Therapy Centre, as well as solutions for operational radiation protection for all modalities of radiotherapy.
