11th February each year is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science
(by resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, 22 December 2015)

The Day recognizes the critical role women and girls play in science and technology.  It reminds the world that science and technology are being held back by the gender gap and that it is important to encourage girls into STEM careers. The Society for Radiological Protection fully supports this campaign.  As well as providing information on the variety of careers in radiation protection, it supports women and girls in their career development.  See our Poster with inspirational female scientists as nominated by some of our members.
