Jack Martin Award Presented to Nicola Jaynes
News Story from 14th Jun 2016
We are pleased to announce that Nicola Jaynes (Urenco) has been awarded the 2016 Jack Martin Prize. This Prize is awarded for the best oral presentation given at the Annual Meeting from a submitted abstract. Pete Cole met with Nicola yesterday to present Nicola with the Medal and also a cheque for £500. The slides from Nicola’s paper entitled ‘Practical Application of Radiological Protection’ are available to members here (you need to be logged onto MySRP to view). Make sure you look out for call for abstracts in September for SRP's Annual Conference in Aberdeen next May.
Nicola said: "I was thrilled to receive the Jack Martin award from Pete in his ‘natural habitat’ and have the chance to see the wonderful teaching facilities at Liverpool University.
"My aim when submitting an abstract for the SRP annual conference was to challenge myself to stand up in front of my peers and make a positive contribution to the conference. To be receive the award was very unexpected. It’s something I (and my colleagues who helped and supported me) are very proud to have achieved."
