Public Consultation on Radiation Measurement Guides
News Story from 21st May 2020
The Society has recently signed an agreement with the National Physical Laboratory to take over the maintenance and publication of five UK Measurement Good Practice Guides (MGPGs) relating to key areas of radiation metrology. The first of these "MGPG No. 49: Assessment of Uncertainty in Radiological Calibration and Testing" is now available for Public Consultation with comments requested by 30 June 2020.
The other four Measurement Good Practice Guides, at various stages of review by Working Groups, are:
MGPG No.14 – The Examination, Testing and Calibration of Radiation Protection Instruments
MGPG No.29 – The Examination, Testing and Calibration of Installed Radiation Protection Instruments
MGPG No.30 – Practical Radiation Monitoring
MGPG No.113 – The Examination and Testing of Electronic Personal Dosemeters.
MGPG No. 49: Assessment of Uncertainty in Radiological Calibration and Testing - Public Consultation
This Guide has seen significant change, the details of which will be presented during the June 2020 IRMF Webinar, however, the principle layout of the document maintains the structure of the original issue so it continues to have a familiar look. The draft is available here and is free to download. Any comments should be sent to the SRP Admin Office by 30 June 2020. Please refer to the line number (on the left hand side) or paragraph number prior to comments as this will make the review and editing by the Working Group easier.
