CRadP CPD Scheme
News Story from 12th Dec 2013
We’re working with the website contractor to provide everything you need to record your CPD online; we’re nearly there and it should be available by early March. In the meantime, the relevant documents can be found below - you may wish to start completing and then transfer to the online sytem when available.
A Chartered Radiation Protection Professional (CRadP) must have a commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
SRP will shortly introduce a scheme to enable holders of CRadP to declare and record their CPD activities. You can find details of the scheme here together with an example of a CPD Activity summary sheet. Whilst the scheme is available to all SRP members, and indeed replaces the old CPD scheme, enrolment on it is compulsory for holders of CRadP.
As a Chartered Radiation Protection Professional, SRP requires you to register onto the CPD scheme, and then make an online declaration that you are actively involved in Continuing Professional Development at the end of each calendar year.
To help you keep track of CPD activity, MySRP will have a facility for you to record your own CPD. The record should also include a note of the benefit gained from the activity. It is not a points-based system. We encourage you to engage with a mentor to help determine what is an acceptable level of CPD for you.
SRP will audit the CPD scheme. Any CRadP holder who fails to make an annual declaration (after being reminded) will be asked to provide evidence of CPD. Otherwise SRP intends to select 5% of registered CRadP holders at random every year to provide evidence. If you use the MySRP recording system it will be sufficient to submit that record summary.
If you currently hold a Certificate of Competence issued by RPA2000, SRP will accept that as sufficient evidence of CPD for CRadP, as you cannot retain such a Certificate without significant CPD.
By introducing this CPD Scheme we can ensure that the status of CRadP remains valid and meaningful to the holder and their employer.
