Philip Nicholson Award
Congratulations to Chris McKay (Science and Technologies Facilities Council) for winning the best poster presentation.  The poster was entitled 'The Carbon Cost of Radiation Protection: When are we doing more harm than good?'  Chris was presented with the award by Awards and Sponsorship Committee Member, Lorna Galbraith and President, Mike Wood.

Young Professionals Award
Sharan Packer announced that Rae Denham (Loughborough University) was the winner of the UK Young Professionals Award (YPA) for her presentation entitled 'An investigation into radioactive needlestick injuries'.  Rae will now represent the UK in the next IRPA YPA competition taking place at the 7th European IRPA Congress in Liverpool next year.  Congratulations Rae and good luck!

Best Exhibitor Award
This year was a first as the best exhibitor award was shared between two organisations.  It was very close as each organisation was winning at different periods of the conference by just one vote, but when it came to 'count the votes' it was a draw!  Congratulations to Aurora Health Physics and AWE.

Further awards will be announced next week.
