Honorary Fellowships and Awards

At the recent Annual Conference in Southport a number of awards were made and three new Honorary Fellowships were announced. Congratulations to all.
Three New Honorary Fellowships were awarded at the Annual Dinner to :
John was unable to attend the Dinner in person however his Award was accepted on his behalf by Richard Paynter who read his citation.
The Founders' Medal was awarded to Peter Bryant
Philip Nicholson Award - for best poster presentation.
Awarded to Julie Scott (PHE) for her poster ‘Evaluation of a detector system for measurement of low energy photon emitting radionuclides in the body’
RGG Best Presentation - for best RGG oral presentation
Awarded to Susan Somerville (left) of DSRL for her presentation ‘Radiation Protection of Workers during the Decommissioning of the Dounreay Materials Test Reactor Sentencing Tanks’. The picture shows her with Lorna Galbraith (right), Chairman of RGG.
UK Young Professionals Award (YPA) –
Awarded to Adam Jones (left) for his presentation ‘Optimisation of image quality and patient dose in radiographs of paediatric extremities using DDR’. Adam was unable to stay for the Annual Dinner and the picture shows him being presented with his award by Stan Batchelor (right) who is his departmental head at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
Best Exhibition Stand – introduced this year this is an informal award for best exhibition stand at the Annual Conference as voted for by delegates. This year's winner was Unitech Services Group and the picture shows Daren Crosbee (left) collecting the award from Richard Wilkins, Secretary of the Events Committee.
