New President of SRP

At yesterday;s 54th Annual General Meeting of the Society in Aberdeen, Amber Bannon became SRP President. She received the Presidential Medal from Immediate Past President Pete Cole. Amber joined the Society in 2007, quickly joining the Practical Radiation Protection Topic Group, writing decommissioning guidance and organising an event for design of new facilities. She was elected to Council in 2010 and became Honorary Secretary in 2013. Amber has worked for the Environment Agency since 2000 and is currently a Technical Specialist for Radioactive Substances Regulation, based in the south east, covering the non-nuclear sector but with a particular interest in education and R&D.
